Baca -- Caroline Baca passed away to be with the Lord on June 22, 1999. She was preceded in death by her husband, Juan Baca; her parents, Francisco and Eloisa Gurule; two brothers, Eduvejen Gurule and Felix Gurule; one grandson, Jonathan Chavez; and one sister, Eva Duran. Caroline is survived by one daughter, Elizabeth Chavez; two brothers, Albert Gurule and wife, Jenie of Albuquerque, Frank Gurule of Minco, OK; five sisters, Sister Rosalie of San Antonio, TX, Tillie De Herrera of Albuquerque, Lola Flores of Gallup, Emma Rodriguez and husband, Eddie of Gallup, Nellie Salas and husband, Toby of Albuquerque, Annie Lovato and husband, Ray of La Jara, NM. She will be greatly missed by her loving family. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated this morning at the Santo Nino Catholic Church, in La Jara, at 11:00 a.m., with interment to follow at Santo Nino Cemetery. Baldonado -- Mr. Patrocino Pat Felix Baldonado, 63, a resident of Albuquerque, passed away on June 24, 1999. Mr. Baldonado was the beloved husband of 33 years to Mrs. Eutimia"Timmie" Baldonado. He is also survived by three sons, Carlos Herrera and Melissa Stump, Paul Herrera and Mark Diaz and wife, Tone; one sister, Lucy C de Baca; one sister-in-law, Genevieve Baldonado; special nieces, Tommie Vaquera and Angela Estavis; many more nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. He was preceded in death by his brothers, Ramon Baldonado and Muricio Baldonado; and a sister, Ella Garcia. Mr. Baldonado was a member of the Catholic Church. A Rosary will be recited Friday evening at 7:00 p.m. in the Gabaldon Memorial Chapel, 1000 Old Coors Rd. SW, with visitation after 6:30 p.m. A funeral services will be held Saturday morning, 8:00 a.m., at Holy Family Catholic Church, 562 Atrisco SW, with final viewing at the church after 7:30 a.m. Deacon Enrique Padilla, officiating. Cappello -- Deziray Daniella Cappello, infant daughter of Veronica F. Gutierrez and Daniel V. Cappello, of Albuquerque, died Wednesday, June 23, 1999."We have said hello and goodbye to our sweet little angel, Deziray. We held you in our arms for only a moment, but you will live in our hearts and memory forever and ever. You were named Deziray for you were our hearts' desire. Precious little daughter, wait for us in heaven. Your light shone suddenly in our life...like a spark or a shooting star...but it is a light that will never go out; you are a light that will shine for eternity, a light never fading, but shining on in the lives of the people whom you have touched." Deziray is also survived by her paternal grandparents, Regina Cappello of Albuquerque and Danny Cappello and wife, Vicki of Rio Rancho; maternal grandmother, Marcella Gutierrez; maternal grandfather, Edmundo Gutierrez, both of Albuquerque; and many aunts, uncles, and cousins. Cooley -- Dan W. Cooley II, 24, a resident of Chicago, IL since 1996, and a former resident of Albuquerque, died in Chicago as a result of an auto accident. He is survived by his mother, Shelley Cooley; father, Daniel W. Cooley and wife, Paula; grandmother, Betty Self, all of Albuquerque; aunts and uncles, Peter Cooley of Albuquerque, Cherryl Lingo and husband, Dean of Flora Vista, NM, Randy Self of Carlsbad, and Rick Self and wife, Brieta of Sherman, TX; and numerous cousins. Dan was born in Albuquerque in 1975. He attended Del Norte High School and the University of New Mexico. He then moved to Chicago, IL in 1996. He was a loving son, grandson, and will be deeply missed by all who knew him. Services will be held Tuesday, June 29, 1999, 10:00 a.m., at French Mortuary, Lomas Blvd. Chapel, 10500 Lomas NE, with Pastor Rick Donaho officiating. Interment will follow at Mt. Calvary Cemetery. French -- Marjorie Cole Young French, age 91, an Albuquerque resident since 1951, died Wednesday, June 23, 1999. She was preceded in death by her husband, Winston William (Ted) French in 1964; and her brother, Robert Young. She is survived by her son, Winston William French and wife, Linda Ashling; daughter, Marjorie McGarrah and husband, Charles; two grandsons, Charles McGarrah Jr. and wife, Debbie, Jonathon William McGarrah and wife, Stephanie; three great-grandchildren, Shane, Logan, Katrina McGarrah; sisters, Josephine Hartwell of Port Jervis, NY, Eleanor Byrne of Aiken, SC; and several nieces and nephews. She loved her chose career of nursing. She was the head nurse at St. Joseph Hospital for many years and a Public Health Nurse in Silver City. She was an avid bridge player. She will be missed. Visitation will be held Friday, June 25, 1999, from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., at Strong-Thorne Mortuary. Funeral services will be held Saturday, June 26, 1999, 10:00 a.m., at Peralta Methodist Church, with Rev. Steve Davis officiating. Friedland -- Zelda"Nan" FriedlandWas taken from us abruptly on June 23, 1999. She was preceded in death by her loving husband, David. She is survived by her son, Barry and wife Lorraine of Albuquerque, NM; and daughter, Sue and Rita of East Syracuse, NY; grandchildren, Bruce Sargent, David E. Friedland and his wife Lee, Danny Sargent, Debbie-Ann Morrell, Bonnie McKennon and her husband Jim, Dawn Michaels and her husband Tim, Dennis Freidland and his fiancee Michelle DeBari; great-grandchildren, Nicole Sargent, Elliot Fernandez Freidland, Michelle Sargent, Amber Morrell, Cory Morrell, Patrick McKennon, Casey McKennon, Josh Michaels, Stephanie Michaels and Brandon Michaels.Nan had a wonderful sense of humor and a continuing zest for life. Long after she retired from teaching elementary school, she continued working with, and teaching children and young people until her death.Nan was active varied charitable organizations and her synagogue, including Hadassah, Beth Israel, ORT, KDE (Kappa Delta Epsilon), and B'nai Israel just to name a few.Nan was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, friend and human being. She was admired and respected and will be great missed and remembered by all who knew her.Services and interment will be 11:00 a.m., this morning, at Fairview Cemetery. Gerken -- Rosanne Gerken, age 86, a lifelong resident of Albuquerque, died June 22, 1999. She is survived by a niece, Jeanette Ross of Los Lunas; and friends, Millika DePonte and James Anderson. During WWII, she enlisted in the Navy. She was Honorably Discharged. She taught school and traveled extensively with her husband, Lt. Col. Fred Gerken during his military career in the Army; he preceded her in death in 1984. She supported various organizations that helped children and the homeless. Huling -- Louise W. Huling, 79, a resident of Albuquerque for 60 years, passed away Wednesday, June 23, 1999. She is survived by her husband of 58 years, Ellsworth C. Huling Jr.; three daughters, Rose A. Jones, Donna Louise Huling and Elizabeth F. Paiz; six sons, Ellsworth C. Huling III, William C. Huling and wife, Jeannie, Donald E. Huling, Morris L. Huling and wife, Valerie, Daniel J. Smith and Jacob N. Huling; 17 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren; one brother, Phillip Rhoten and two sisters-in-law, Helen and Betsy Huling. Mrs. Huling was a member of Mt. Olive Baptist Church, the WMU, NAACP, and the March of Dimes. Her family describes her as a very loving wife, mother, grandmother and aunt. Humphrey -- Mr. Donald Carter Humphrey, resident of Los Lunas, N.M., died Friday, June 18, 1999. He is survived by his wife, Hazel Humphrey; three sons, Donald C. Jr. of Fountain Valley, CA, George E. of Yuma, AZ, and Michael J. of Vail, CO; two daughters, Joanne R. Allerdyce of Stuart, FL, and Donna M. Wilson of Vacaville, CA; grandchildren, Patricia Humphrey, Amy Allerdyce, Dawn M. Humphrey, Donald E. Humphrey, Jennifer N. Wilson, Andrew J. Wilson, and Alyssa Wilson; and a great-grandson, Sean Kitano. Humphrey, a retired U.S.A.F. (MAJOR) 22 yrs., Hospital and Nursing Home Administrator in New Mexico for 23 yrs., Remington and Winchester Club, and NSSA Skeet Champion from 1956-1959. Mr. Humphrey will be greatly missed by all who knew him.

Nolan and husband, Chris and Lizabeth J. Johnson, all of Albuquerque; grandchildren, Yvette M. Johnson and Jessica L. Johnson, both of Belen, Graciela A. Abeyta and Loretta A. Gallegos, both of Corrales and Robin P. Nolan and Kellie A. Nolan, both of Albuquerque; niece, Barbara Jones and husband, Herbert of Spokane, WA; and nephews, Marlin Glass of Laguna Beach, CA and Jim, Robert and Tom Barr, all of Petaluma, CA. She was preceded in death by her husband, Elvyn O. Johnson; and brother, Gordon W. Barr. Mrs. Johnson, a former resident of Long Beach, CA, was a member of the Christian Church in Long Beach and current member at Shepherd of the Valley Presbyterian Church in Albuquerque. She was a loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother who will be sorely missed. Lovato -- Raul"R.H." Lovato, 62, beloved husband, father, grandfather and brother, was called home to be with the Lord, Thursday, June 24, 1999. He was a parishioner of St. Therese Catholic Church; he retired from the Albuquerque Fire Department. R.H. is survived by his loving wife, Irene Lovato of the family home; two daughters, Elizabeth Kahre and husband, Darrell of Las Vegas, NV, Jessica Torres and husband, Ely of Albuquerque; one son, Jude Lovato, also of Albuquerque; five grandchildren, Eric, Andrea, Jesse, Samantha and Dominic Ely. Also surviving are two brothers, Tony Lovato and wife, Marilyn, T.B. Lovato; step-mother, Mary Lovato; and several step-brothers and sisters. He will be greatly missed by his loving family. Powell -- Lt. Col. Thomas H. Powell U.S.A.F. Ret, 80, a resident of Albuquerque since 1965, died Monday, June 21, 1999. He is survived by his daughters, Rita Ward of Ft. Walton Beach, FL, Maureen Gardner and husband, Whit of Atlanta, GA, Lizabeth Jones and husband, Barry of Meridian, MS, Cecile Powell of Albuquerque, Teresa Schumann and husband, Mark of Ft. Dix, NJ and Suzanne Powell and Ed Vaillancourt of Albuquerque; son, Thomas Powell and wife, LeeAnn of Albuquerque; 13 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and sister, Miriam Newnum of San Diego, CA. Mr. Powell was preceded in death by his first wife of 50 years, Ann E. Powell; and second wife, Margaret Clayburgh Powell. He was retired from the U.S. Air force after 37 years of service. Mr. Powell was a decorated WWII pilot receiving the Distinguished Flying Cross, and he also served during the Korean War. She was born on May 26, 1933 in Gibson, NM to Jesus and Adela Quintana who preceded her in death. She is survived by her loving husband of 46 years, Anselmo Ramirez of the family home; three sons, Ray Ramirez and wife, Ida, Paul Ramirez, Dave Ramirez and wife, Sherry, all of Albuquerque; four grandchildren, Anthony, Antanette, Yvonne and Gabriel Ramirez; one great-grandson, Steven Ramirez. Also surviving are six brothers, Ray Quintana and wife, Lorraine, Rudy Quintana and wife, June, David Quintana and wife, Barbara, Johnny Quintana and wife, Teresa, all of Albuquerque, Simon Quintana and wife, Alice of Dallas, TX, and Marcelino Yepes of Ruidoso, NM; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins. She will be deeply missed by her loving family. He is survived by his daughter, Clorinda C."Corky" Sarro and husband, Frank of Laurinburg, NC; and son, Orlando Sanchez of Albuquerque. He was preceded in death by his wife, Carolyn G. He was a Army Veteran of WWII and a member of the Catholic Church. Fred worked for Chrysler Motor Co. He was owner and manager of F. Jay Auto Sales. Tietjen -- Wesley Alma Tietjen, 83, a resident of Belen, passed away in Raton, NM on Wednesday, June 23, 1999. He was born in Bluewater, NM on May 7, 1916. He was a lifetime rancher and horseman. He was preceded in death by his wife, Melva Etta Tietjen; daughters, Jenny Lou Tietjen, Lavern Carver and Alma Louise Alexander; his father and mother, Alma Tietjen and Clarinda Roundy; sister, Elva Lee; and his brother, Bert Roundy. Wesley is survived by two sons, Ted and his wife, Dianne and Ned and his wife, Janet; one daughter, Bobby Jo Randles and her husband, Monte; 15 grandchildren; 27 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-granddaughter; two sons-in-law, Dale Carver and Clay Alexander; four sisters, Valma Hakes, Rinda Bell, Floss Chapman and Retha Wengert; and one sister-in-law, Jean Roundy.
