Black -- . Jeanie Black, age 42, passed away Friday afternoon. She was a Registered Nurse employed as a pediatric nurse at the time of her death. She was a member of the New Mexico Board of Nursing as well as being active in the PTA and 4H in the East Mountain area. Jeanie is survived by her husband, Bill and daughter, Jessica of the family home. A son, Michael Koehler and wife, Eva of Albuquerque; her parents, Richard and Nellie Lowe of Idaho; her three brothers, Rick, Tom and Louis; two sisters, Linda and Lori; and father and mother-in-law, Ben and Lee Black of Kansas. Following cremation a Memorial Service will be at 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, November 10, 1998, at Hillcrest Funeral Home Chapel. Chavez -- Albina A. Chavez, 85, a resident of Los Chavez, passed away on November 6, 1998. She was a member of Our Lady of Belen Catholic Church, and the cursillo movement. She was preceded in death by her grandchildren, Bobby Lopez, Jose Jesse Chavez, great-grandchildren, Andrew Peralta, and infant son, Ismael Chavez, infant daughter, Florence Chavez, brothers, Elfego, Mateo and Manuel Alderete. Albina is survived by her husband, Jose Jesus Chavez of the family home in Los Chavez; sons, Joe Chavez Jr. and his wife, Tillie of Barstow, CA; Eloy Chavez and wife, Alice of Barstow, CA; Ruben Chavez and his wife, Cecilia of Los Chavez, Raymond and his wife, Rosaline of Albuquerque, Gilbert and his wife, Rosie of Los Chavez, Orlando and his wife, Viola of Barstow, CA; daughters, Florence Ortega and her husband, Anthony of Belen, Eva Peralta and her husband, Eloy of Barstow, CA, Lydia Lopez and her husband, Robert of Belen, Sally Alires and her husband, Paul of Albuquerque, Isabel and granddaughter, Jessica Chavez of Los Chavez; 46 grandchildren; 81 great-grandchildren; brothers, Rosendo, Pete of Barstow, CA, and Vicente and his wife, Virginia Alderete of Albuquerque; sisters, Clorinda Padilla of Los Chavez, Luz Tafoya, Annie Chavoya of Barstow, CA; sisters-in-law, Emma and Bernardita Alderete of Albuquerque. She is also survived by many loving nieces, nephews, friends and other relatives. Viewing will be held on Monday at 6:00 p.m. followed by a Rosary at 7:00 p.m. at Our Lady of Belen Catholic Church. Funeral Mass will be celebrated Tuesday at 12:00 p.m. also at Our Lady of Belen Catholic Church. Interment will follow at the Our Lady of Belen Catholic Cemetery. Pallbearers will be her sons, Gilbert, Joe, Orlando, Eloy, Ruben and Raymond. Honorary pallbearers will be Albina's grandchildren and her great-grandchildren. Drake -- Anthony"Tony", 44, passed away after a short illness November 7, 1998. He was preceded in death by his father, Paul Drake. He is survived by his mother, Maclovia Drake; daughter, Lisa Drake; sons, Adam, Daniel, Ryan, and Brandon; two granddaughters; Bridget, Brittony; grandson, Brandon Jr.; brother, Paul Drake Jr. and wife, Leann; sister, Therese Fuller and husband, Roger of New York; nieces; nephews; uncles; aunts; family and friends who will miss him. Ferdinandus -- Johanna Ferdinandus, born in Tjimahi, Indonesia in 1929, went home to be with the Lord; her husband, Nocholaas; her sister, Teda; and her parents on November 7, 1998. She is survived by her children, Joyce and Frank Adamo, Davey and Robert Greenberg, Revo Ferdinandus, Danny and Dar Ferdinandus, Jeanette Sopacua; her grandchildren, Justin, Joshua, Nichole and Ashley Ferdinandus; her brothers, Jopie and Zadrach Sopacua, Holland and Janus Sopacuz, Indonesia. Our deepest gratitude to the Presbyterian Hospice team, especially Carol Gustafson, RN, Sister Juniper, RN, and Ann Letherer, RN. Jowers -- Joseph J. Jowers, Lt. Col. USAF, Ret., died Thursday, November 5, 1998. Joe is survived by his wife of 56 years, Carmen Lydia; daughters, Brenda Brent and husband, Andy, Sandra Larrichio and husband, Don, Deborah Meyer and husband, Tom, and Lydia Brazfield, all of Albuquerque; eight grandchildren, Andrea Di Saverio of Denver, CO, Michael Brent of Dallas, Tom Larrichio of Morrisville, NC, Steven Brent of Albuquerque, Dawn Meyer, Dina Larrichio and Michelle Brazfield, all of Albuquerque, and Tami Meyer of Denver, CO; four great-grandchildren, Derreck Brent, Nicole Larrichio, Anthony and Anna Marie Di Saverio; sisters, Lil Lollar, Edna Teaff, Marie Briggs, and Laura Mae Pinckley; and brother, Wayland Jowers, all of Abilene, TX. Col. Jowers attended Abilene High School. He was a graduate of the University of Omaha, the Air Force Commander Staff College and the Nuclear Weapons Course at Sandia Base, Albuquerque. After Air Force retirement, he owned and operated National Office Supply for 19 years. He was also co-owner with wife, Lydia of Lydee's Fashions for 29 years. Col. Jowers was also very active in community affairs as a past president and district director of the Exchange Club of Albuquerque and president of the Exchange Club Center for the Prevention of Child Abuse. He was past commander adjutant, and treasurer of the Commander Simpson and Lt. Col. Loring Chapter of the Military Order of World Wars. He was a member of the AF & AM Lodge 60, Ballud Abyad Shrine Legion of Honor, and Scottish Rite, 32nd Mason. Rosary will be held Friday, 7:00 p.m., at French Mortuary, Lomas Blvd. Chapel, 10500 Lomas Blvd. NE, with Deacon Al McLane reciting. Mass will be celebrated Saturday, 11:00 a.m., at St. Bernadette Catholic Church, 11401 Indian School Rd. NE, with Fr. Florian Renaud, Celebrant. Interment will follow at Gate of Heaven Cemetery with Masonic AF & AM Lodge 60 presiding. Lee -- Elwyn James Lee died peacefully in his home with his family at his side November 7, 1998. Elwyn is survived by his wife of 52 years, Dorothy; sons, Terry Wade Lee and wife, Donna of Albuquerque and Warren Edwin Lee and wife, Rose of Chandler, AZ; daughter, Tana Satterfield and husband, Bill of Albuquerque; sisters, Colita Schalbar of Albuquerque and Connie Shepperd and husband, Bill of Alamogordo, NM; sisters-in-law, Marvel Duffey of El Paso, TX, Louise Kelley and husband, Jack of Port Hueneme, CA and Edna Light and husband, Elmer of Lenore, ID; brother, J.W."Dud" Lee and wife, Mary of Springfield, MO; honorary mother-in-law, Marvel Julian of Erda, UT; eight grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. Elwyn was preceded in death by his daughter, Donna Jean Lee in 1948. Elwyn was a WWII veteran in the submarine service. After his service to his country, Elwyn worked as a cowboy on various ranches across NM and southern Colorado. He then worked for the telephone company for 30 years in El Paso and Albuquerque and as an active member of CWA Local 8611. He was a lifetime member of the Telephone Pioneers. After retirement in 1982, Elwyn and his wife, Dorothy traveled extensively visiting all 50 states, New Zealand and Australia. Elwyn was an avid hunter and fisherman who passed on his knowledge and love of the outdoors to all of his children and grandchildren. Cremation has taken place and a Memorial Service will be conducted at St. Andrews United Methodist Church, 3905 Las Vegas Drive, SW on Tuesday, November 10 at 11:00 a.m. with Pastor Sandy Burley officiating. Rothchild -- Claire Rothchild, a resident of Rio Rancho for 20 years, passed away on November 6, 1998. She was preceded in death by her husband Max Rothchild.
