Covalt -- Louis Edward Covalt, 73, a resident of Albuquerque since 1956, devoted son, husband, parent, grandparent and friend died Monday, December 3, 2001. He is survived by his wife, Nancy O. Covalt; children, Rebecca Covalt and husband, Buzz Kasner; Kathleen Covalt and husband, Art Lites; Martin Covalt; Kit Carson and wife, Jan; David Carson; Jane Cooley and husband, David; Mary Matteucci and husband, Brian; grandchildren, Cosmo and Bohn Covalt, Connor and Brandon Lites, Cale and Chelsea Carson, Tiffany Dawes, Max Carson, and Katie Cooley; mother-in-law, Helen Overton; and cousin, Sarah Huber. He was preceded in death by his mother, Johanna Kessler Covalt. Born September 3, 1928 in Evansville, Indiana, he was in the construction industry and a consultant for over 50 years. He was a member of Ballut Abayd Shrine Temple and band member, Rotary International and band member, and a George Harris Fellow. He was a member of First Presbyterian Church and was in the choir. Lou was a talented musician, a great storyteller with a wonderful sense of humor, and the life of every party. He will be fondly remembered by all who knew and loved him. Cremation has taken place and a service in celebration of his life will be held Friday, December 7, 11:00 a.m., at First Presbyterian Church, 215 Locust NE, with Pastor Paul Debenport officiating. Reception to follow in the Fellowship Hall. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Ballut Abayd Shrine Childrens Transportation Fund, 6600 Zuni SE, 87108. French Mortuary, 1111 University Blvd. NE.
