Smothers -- Margaret Rosina Smothers, 91, a resident of Albuquerque since 1947, died Wednesday, May 16, 2001. She is survived by her daughter, Jane Berry of Albuquerque, NM; son, Jack Spencer Smothers and wife, Virginia of Lake Havasu, AZ; eight grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; sisters, Helen Carlton of Albuquerque, NM; Ann Fortner of Arkansas and Lucille Gullings of Illinois and brother, Albert Dawson of Joplin, MO. She was preceded in death by the husband, Spencer D. Smothers in March of 1987, son-in-law, George Berry, a grandson and a great-grandson. Mrs. Smothers was a founding member of Highland Assembly of God and a current member of Tramway Community Church. Services will be held on Saturday, May 19, 2001, 10:00 a.m. at Chester T. French Memorial Mausoleum Chapel, 924 Menaul NE, with Pastor Chuck Kofahl officiating. Entombment will follow at Sunset Memorial Park, 924 Menaul NE. Pallbearers will be David Berry, Kevin Berry, Jack Smothers, Jr., Fred Johnson, Patrick Mora and Derek Berry. Friends may visit French Mortuary, 10500 Lomas Blvd. NE, Friday, May 18, 2001 from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.
