Maestas -- Jose S. Maestas, 66, left to be with the Lord on May 14, 2001, after a battle with brain cancer. Mr. Maestas has been a resident of Albuquerque for the last 40 years, formerly of Santa Rosa, NM. He is survived by his loving wife, Nettie C. Maestas; one son, four daughters, and nine grandchildren; Anthony Maestas and children, Jonathan, Elizabeth and Antoinette; Rose Marie Rael and children, Veronica and Erik of Las Vegas, NM., Yolanda Gutierrez and husband, Frank and children, Angelo and Andrew, Mona Marchese and husband, Art and daughter, Julianna, Ruby Brito and husband, Tony and children, Roxann and Charlie. Mr. Maestas is also survived by two brothers, Lucas Maestas of Albuquerque, Ignacio Maestas of Texico, NM; and one sister, Frances Moncayo also of Texico, NM. Graveside services will be held at Santa Fe National Cemetery on Wednesday, May 16, 2001 at 1:00 p.m. Arrangements by Direct Funeral Services, 2919 4th ST. NW. Albuquerque. 505-343-8008.
