Carlberg -- Carl T. Carlberg, 92, a resident of Albuquerque since 1946, died Sunday, July 1, 2001. He is survived by his son, David Carlberg and wife, Geri of Colorado Springs, CO; daughter, Janille Hicks and husband, Bill of Albuquerque; brother, John Carlberg of Leaf River, IL; sister, Carin Belt and husband, Bill; sister-in-law, Christine Carlberg, all of Rockford, IL; grandchildren, Kelly, Andy, Jeff, Carin, Jennifer, Glen, Stephanie, Kristy and William (Tres); 21 great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews including Alan Johnson of Rio Rancho. Mr. Carlberg was preceded in death by his wife of 59 years, Lucille E. Carlberg. He was a noted New Mexico businessman, whose background included Assistant to the President of Sandia Labs; President and Founder of C.T. Carlberg and Associates, an Electronic Manufacturing Representative established in 1955; and served on the initial TVI Planning Board. Mr. Carlberg was founder of Toastmaster Clubs of Albuquerque and Santa Fe; Charter member and cofounder of the Coronado Club on Sandia Base; national and local board member of Electronic Representatives Association; active from age 12 in HAM Radio W5IH; 60 years as a Mason, Zia Daylight Lodge; pilot; entrepreneur; dedicated Christian and member of St. Paul Lutheran Church for 55 years. He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and teacher to all. That man is a success, who has lived well, laughed often and loved much; who has gained the respect of intelligent men and the love of children; who has filled his niche and accomplished his task; who leaves the world better than he found it; who looked for the best in others, and gave the best he had. Services will be held Friday, 2:00 p.m., at St. Paul Lutheran Church, 1100 Indian School Rd. NE, with Rev. Dale Bauer officiating. Interment will follow at Sunset Memorial Park, 924 Menaul Blvd. NE. Friends may visit French Mortuary, 1111 University Blvd. NE, Thursday, 5:00 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. Should friends desire, memorial contributions may be made to New Mexico Boys & Girls Ranch, 6209 Hendrix NE, Albuquerque, NM, 87110.
