Strosnider -- Mary Ellen Strosnider, age 88, died in Albuquerque, New Mexico on March 29, 2001. She was born the eldest of 7 children to Leah and Henry Meyer on January 19, 1913 in Ohio. Mary Ellen married James I. Strosnider in Santa Fe, New Mexico on March 2, 1935 and they enjoyed 65 years of marriage. Mary Ellen's life was one of love, service and devotion to her family, friends and church. While in Santa Fe, Jim served with the New Mexico State Police and was also the Director of the Boys Club while Mary Ellen was a beautician at the La Fonda Hotel. In 1944, they moved to Great Falls where Jim managed with great support from Mary Ellen - the USO Club. After the war ended, Mary Ellen and Jim owned and operated The Little Chef Restaurant and the Rancho Motel. From 1959 to 1961, Mary Ellen and Jim proudly served as missionaries for Catholic Relief Services in Ethiopia and Nigeria. Mary Ellen also enjoyed her work in sales for Great Falls Flooring and Ethan Alan Furniture. Mary Ellen's greatest achievement was in the love she provided for her family. Left to mourn her passing but to rejoice in a life well lived are her children, Lloyd Strosnider and wife, Judy, of Albuquerque, Sandra Raucci and husband, Hank, of Salt Lake City, Michael Strosnider and wife, Jacklin, of Great Falls, and Kathryn Orton and husband, Tim, of Walker, MN; 21 grandchildren; 27 great-grandchildren (with 2 more on the way); brothers, Tom Meyer and wife, Mary, Donald Meyer and wife, Marge and William Meyer and wife, Sue; sister, Betty McDonald and husband LaVon; sister-in-law, Denise Meyer; and brother-in-law, Robert Yoder. Mary Ellen was preceded in death by her beloved husband, James I. Strosnider, in August of 1998, by her brother, John Meyer, her sister, Kate Yoder, two grandchildren, and one great-grandchild. She was a member of the Catholic Church. Mary Ellen moved to Albuquerque in 1997 from Great Falls, MT. A Rosary will be recited Sunday, April 1, 2001, 2:00 p.m. at French Mortuary, Wyoming Chapel, 7121 Wyoming NE, with Rev. Arkad Biczak, reciting. Services and burial will take place in Great Falls, MT. Friends may visit Sunday, April 1, 2001 at 1:00 p.m. at French Mortuary, Wyoming Chapel.
