Richards -- Homer R. Richards, Jr., 78, was born May 19, 1923 in Lorraine, TX and passed away October 12, 2001. He was preceded in death by his father, Homer R. Richards, Sr.; mother, Jewell Richards and son, Monroe (Monte) Jay Richards. He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Dorothy; daughter and son-in-law Quita Kay and Michael Smith; sister, Quita Mathis of Corpus Christi, TX; grandchildren, Michael Jay Glass and wife, Dawn; Kimberly Ann Richards, Christine Lucille Richards, Damian Bruhm and wife, Coletta and 6 great grandchildren, Alyssa Marie Glass, Lindsey Michelle Guiterrez, Kaitlyn Grace Glass, Makaela Bruhm, Hannah Bruhm, and Noah Steven Glass. Homer served his country in the Navy during WWII and was a survivor of Pearl Harbor. He was an alcoholism counselor for the State of New Mexico in Albuquerque and Roswell for many years. Graveside services will be held Monday, October 15, 2001, 10:00 a.m., at Fairview Memorial Park with Dr. Bob Butler officiating. Honorary Pallbearers will be members of the Pearl Harbor Survivors' Association. Friends may visit French Mortuary, 10500 Lomas Blvd. NE, Sunday, October 14, 2001 from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions be made to Noonday Ministry, P.O. Box 25451, 87125.
