Chavez -- Brian J. Chavez, 26, passed away Sunday, November 4, 2001. He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Juan and Julia Chavez; and maternal grandparents, James and Margaret Shields. He is survived by his parents, Patricio (Pat) and Susan Chavez; brother, Jonathan and wife, Leticia; nieces, Felicia and Darian Chavez; Godmother, Priscilla Torres; many more loving uncles, aunts, nieces, nephews and cousins; and friends. Brian graduated from La Cueva High School in 1993 and the University of New Mexico with a degree in Music Performance in December 1999. He was a member of the Troopers, Blue Devils and Blue Knights Drum and Bugle Corps. Rosary will be recited Thursday, November 8, 2001, at 7:00 p.m., at Church of the Risen Savior, 7701 Wyoming Blvd. NE. Mass will be celebrated Friday, November 9, 2001, at 10:00 a.m., at Church of the Risen Savior. Interment will follow at Gate of Heaven Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Jonathan Chavez, David Chavez, Lucas Critchfield, Nathan Claiborn, Frank Neis and James Shields. French Mortuary, 7121 Wyoming Blvd. NE.
