Thorson -- Ted Thorson, 73, passed away Sunday, May 6, 2001 in Albuquerque, New Mexico. His parents were Mary Ellen Garrett and Playford V. Thorson. Thorson attended the public schools of Roswell, NM, Houston and Sweetwater, Texas where he finished High School in 1946. He earned a Bachelor's Degree from the University of New Mexico and a Master's Degree from Webster University in Illinois. Ted served in the United States Air Force from 1951 to 1977, with a tour of duty in Japan and three tours in Southeast Asia, retiring as a Master Sergeant. Preceding him in death was his wife, Anabel Hughes Thorson and his parents. Surviving him are his wife, Layed Thorson of Albuquerque; two brothers, Stephen B. Thorson and wife, Billi Teal of Garden City, Kansas and Playford V. Thorson Jr. and wife, Harriet of Grand Forks, North Dakota. He is also survived by a daughter, Linda Thorson; and a grandson, Anthony Gallegos; a son, Gregory Hughes Thorson and wife, Dottie of Sandy, Oregon; and two daughters, Sherylyn Gay Thorson of Lake Havasu City, Arizona and Maryly Charles of Pasadena, California. Grandchildren from his first marriage are Ryan, Mark and Michelle Thorson, Jessica and Jacob Charles. He was admired and loved by those who knew him. We shall miss him. Memorial Services will be held Saturday, May 12, 2001, 1:30 p.m. at Chester T. French Memorial Mausoleum Chapel, 924 Menaul NE, with Sherylyn Gay Thorson and Sunthorn Janthawong, officiating.
