Lane -- Violet A. Decker Lane, 80, Beloved mother and grandmother died on November 19, 2001 in her Albuquerque home. She was born on December 16, 1920 in Turlock, CA to Anna and John Carlson. She worked as a hostess for the El Cortez Casino in Las Vegas, NV until she retired in 1987 and returned to Albuquerque to be close to family in the twilight of her life. She was"Vi" to her friends and"Nana" to her grandchildren. She was loved by her family and will be dearly missed. She is survived by her daughter, Barbara Hitchcock and her husband, Arthur; her son, Daryl Decker and his wife, Crystal; her grandchildren, Gregory Hitchcock and his wife, Ellice, Brian Hitchcock and his wife, Geanie, Jeffery Hitchcock and his wife, Kellie, Stacy Traxler and her husband, Tyler, Dana Kissinger and her husband, Mike, Krista Decker and Nolan Reed; and nine great-grandchildren, Kirah, Kyle, Cassidy, Breanna, Garrett, Colten, Geoffrey, Adam, and Dustin. Friends may visit Friday from 6:00 p.m. till 8:00 p.m. in the Palm Chapel of Strong-Thorne Mortuary 1100 Coal Ave. SE. Graveside Services will be held Saturday at 11:00 a.m. at Fairview Cemetery, 700 Yale SE, with Pastor Ira Shelton officiating. Pallbearers will be Gregory Hitchcock, Brian Hitchcock, Jeffery Hitchcock, Tyler Traxler, Ron Hitchcock, and Shawn Rolfs. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Delta Hospice. Strong-Thorne Mortuary is entrusted to the care of Violet.
