Pate -- John D. Pate, 85, of Fort Collins, CO, died Saturday, February 24, 2001 in a Fort Collins nursing home. A Private Family Service will be held. Mr. Pate was born December 11, 1915, in Nathan, AK, to Ben D. and Ada Pate. He graduated from Central High School in Washington D. C. and from I.B.M. School in San Antonio, TX. He married Aileen Millikin on October 10, 1940. Mr. Pate served for over three years in World War II as a military customer engineer at Kelly Air Force Base in San Antonio, TX. After World War II, he was a manager of computer operations at Kirtland-Sandia Base in Albuquerque, NM where he retired in 1972 after 28 years of service. After retirement, he and his wife, enjoyed traveling, bridge, fishing and golf. They moved to Fort Collins in 1979. He is survived by his wife, Aileen; his sister, VeEstelle Wilson of San Diego; and two daughters and their spouses, Dick and Cindy Ahrenkiel of Lakewood and Charles and Jennifer Carpenter of Fort Collins. He is also survived by three grandsons, Peter and Tom Martin, and Andrew Carpenter.
