Fogel -- Donald Fogel, 66, a 40-year resident of Albuquerque, passed away Sunday, March 16, 2003 after a four-year battle with pulmonary illness. Mr. Fogel was born in Allentown, PA, where he spent his youth and attended a branch of Penn State University to earn his degree as a draftsman/engineer. Upon graduation, he served in the army and upon his discharge in the late 1950s, he moved to New Mexico to work for Sandia National Laboratories as an expert draftsman. Upon retirement from Sandia, he continued to work as a contractor to the Laboratory. An avid golfer, bowler and gamesman himself, he was a great fan of many sports. He loved attending youth sports activities of his grandchildren and seldom missed a soccer, baseball, basketball or track event. He was admired and will be remembered by all for his generosity and support of youth sports. His brothers, Robert Fogel of Norfolk, VA, Tommy Fogel of Allentown, PA, Mike Fogel of Laughlin, NV, as well as his sister Kathleen Lederer and her husband Edward Lederer of Tiburon, CA survive him, and his sister Barbara Ann Fogel is deceased. Mr. Fogel is also survived by his extended family in Albuquerque, including Dave and Marvella Shaw, Chris and Yolanda Dean, Marco and Donna Holloway; and grandchildren, Monica Lujan, Steven, Robert and Mathew Shaw, Eric, Cory and Casey Dean, and Shane, Danielle and Martina Holloway. Memorial Services will include veteran honors, and will be held Monday, March 24, 2003 at 5:00 p.m., at French Mortuary, University Blvd. Chapel. French Mortuary 1111 University Blvd. NE 843-6333
