Gurule -- Mr. Ralph Gurule died Monday, February 17, 2003 in Albuquerque at the age of 84. Mr. Gurule was a baker by trade and worked at the Old Cottage Bakery in 1940. He owned his own bakery the Home Aid Bakery in Barelas neighborhood. He also worked for Furrs Bakery for about eight years and as a baker at Double Rainbow Dessert Café. Mr. Gurule was an active member of Sacred Heart Church. He is survived by his wife, Lydia Gurule of the family home; sons, Gilbert Gurule and Richard Gurule; five grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren. Funeral Services for Mr. Gurule will be held on Thursday at Sacred Heart Catholic Church where the Mass will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. Burial will follow at Mt. Calvary Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Christopher Creech, Anthony Montoya, Anthony Montoya Jr., Daniel Gurule, Felix Gurule and Frank Gurule. Honorary pallbearers will be Dewayn Creech and Richard Gurule Jr. Visitation for Mr. Gurule will be held on Wednesday from 2:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. in the mortuary chapel. A Rosary will be recited on Wednesday evening at 7:00 p.m. at Salazar & Sons Mortuary, 400 Third St. SW.
