Sais -- Ernest Sais, 85, a resident of Belen for the past 51 years, peacefully passed away on Tuesday, February 4, 2003. He was a former member of the Knights of Columbus; a member of the National Association of Retired Federal Employees; the American Association of Retired Persons and Our Lady of Belen Catholic Church. He proudly served his country during World War II in the U.S. Army. His decorations included an American Theater Service Medal, European African Middle Eastern Service Medal, Good Conduct Medal and Victory Medal. In Ernest's youth, he enjoyed camping, gardening, deer hunting, and the outdoors. He also enjoyed walking and meeting new people. He was preceded in death by his parents, Premitivo and Dolores Sais; his son, Ernie in 1991; his three brothers, Arturo, Leo and Florenio; his two sisters, Emma Lopez and Elsie Sais. He is survived by his loving wife of 60 years, Ida; his children, Kenny Sais and his wife, Lorraine of Los Angeles, CA; Melinda Casto and her husband, Terry of Indialantic, FL; and Theresa McDougal and her husband, Bobby of Belen; five granddaughters; five grandsons, six great grandchildren; three sister-in-laws, Elvira Rodriguez, Carmen Sais and Jessie Perez; and one brother-in-law, Elizandro Perez. He is also survived by numerous loving nieces and nephews. All services will be held at Our Lady of Belen Catholic Church on Friday, February 07, 2003. Beginning with a viewing at 9:30 a.m. followed by a Rosary at 10:00 a.m. and the Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. Interment will follow at Our Lady of Belen Memorial Gardens.
