Cipriano -- Solano Cipriano, age 80, born September 17, 1921 in Springer, NM was called home by the Lord on December 17, 2001. In faith he is with us for ALL ETERNITY. He was the pillar of his family. He was preceded in death by father, Nestor Solano, sister, Louise Savage, brother, Pat Solano. He fought a long and difficult battle with cancer. He is survived by his mother, Bernice Solano of Springer; his wife of 53 years, Dorothy Solano of Springer; daughter, Donna Vigil and husband Vincent of Albuquerque; son, Cipriano Solano and wife, Joan of Albuquerque; grandchildren, George Archuleta and wife, Virginia, Delenia Arias and husband, John, Vincent Vigil Jr. and wife, Delia, Michael Vigil, Cipriano R. Solano Jr. and wife, Marty, Joshua Solano, Isaac Solano and wife, Alicia, all of Albuquerque; 13 great-grandchildren, Joseph, Angelique Darren, Johnny, David, Sarah, Jessie, Robert, Veronica, Biolanda, Marcos, Jada, Kailia; sisters, Gertrude Sanders and family of Albuquerque, Jean Zamora and husband, David of Springer, Ramona and son, Emelio of Raton; and numerous nieces and nephews and other family members. Cip served in the U.S. Air Force during WWII for four years from 1941 to 1945. In 1945 Cip moved to San Antonio, Texas where he worked as a mechanic. In 1950 he moved to Springer and worked as a bodyman. In the 70' Cip worked for himself as a bodyman. He had his own bodyshop and worked until 1995. Cip was a kind and generous person and will be greatly missed by all who knew him. Cip leaves behind many friends and former customers and a legacy of love and hard work that will continue to inspire those who knew him. Rosary will be recited Thursday night at 7:00 p.m., December 20, 2001 at Saint Joseph Catholic Church, in Springer. Memorial Services will be held December 21, 2001 at 10:00 a.m. at Saint Joseph Catholic Church in Springer with Father John Brasher officiating. Interment will follow at 2:30 p.m. in the National Cemetery in Santa Fe, N.M. The arrangements for Cipriano are under the direction of Direct Funeral Services, 2919 4th St NW, Albuquerque
