Barnhart -- Maxine Guy Barnhart, passed away in her home in Fargo, North Dakota on Tuesday, March 11, 2003. She was preceded in death by her husband of 55 years, Carl; and grandson, Mark. She is survived by her two sons, Tom Barnhart and wife, Sue Ann of Fargo, ND and their three children, Andy, Jessie and Laura and Bill Barnhart and wife, Debbie of Danvers, IL and their two sons, Danny and his wife, Amanda of Bloomfield, CT and Scott Barnhart and his wife, Lainnie of Albuquerque and their children, Maxine's great-grandchildren, her pride and joy, Noah and Elizabeth. Maxine was raised in Atwood, Kansas by her parents, Bill and Daisy Guy. She attended Kansas University and completed her Bachelors degree at Denver University. She went on to be one the first woman graduates of Denver University Law School in 1947. She loved learning and reading; she believed education to be a valuable insurance policy and encouraged education in her family. Maxine was the Director of the Intake Department of Denver Social Services before retiring and moving to Albuquerque to be with family. Her last year was spent in Fargo, ND to be close to Tom and his family. Maxine's greatest pride was her family. She was integrally involved in their lives and always created special times at family gatherings whether big or small. Her gift for and enjoyment of cooking and entertaining was loved by her family and friends. She was always active in her church and encouraged her family in serving Christ. Services will be held Friday, March 21st, 12:30 p.m., at Heights First Church of the Nazarene, 8401 Paseo Del Norte NE. Interment will take place at 3:00 p.m., at Santa Fe National Cemetery.
