Downing -- Bobbie L. Downing, 68, a resident of Albuquerque since 1949, died Thursday, May 1, 2003. She is survived by her sons, Charley Downing and wife, Mary of Rio Rancho, NM, Dennis Downing of Locksburg, AR, Paul Downing and wife, Roberta of Enid, OK, and David Downing and wife, Cindy of Albuquerque; daughter, Bertha Ann Blewitt and husband, Dennis of Barnardville, NC; 13 grandchildren, Dennis and Kevin Blewitt, C.J., Dee, Scott, Brian, Amanda, Chelsea, Michael, Justin, Clay, Chris, and Heather Downing; brothers, Ben Culp and wife, Carolyn of Tulsa, OK and Larry Culp and wife, Brenda of Oklahoma City, OK She was preceded in death by her husband, Charley Paul Downing in May 1968, grandson, Jeremy Downing and unborn grandchild. She served for 26 years in the New Mexico Department of Labor retiring January 1, 1997. Mrs. Downing was very active in helping the elderly and homeless. Her birds and cats were very special to her and she loved the outdoors. She was very dedicated to serving the Lord. Services will be held Monday, May 5, 2003, 10:00 a.m., at French Mortuary, Lomas Blvd. Chapel, with Pastor Bob Butler officiating. Interment will take place at 1:30 p.m., at Santa Fe National Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Scott Downing, Brian Downing, Dee Downing, C.J. Downing, Gene Howard, and Ed Gladwell. Honorary pallbearers will be Michael Downing, Kevin Blewitt, and Dennis Blewitt.
