Chavez -- Joseph E."Big Joe" Chavez Sr., Sunday, June 1, 2003 in Albuquerque at the age of 53. Mr. Chavez is survived by his wife, Rosary M. Chavez of the family home; children, Joseph E. Chavez, Jr. Joseph A. Chavez, Josephine Salazar, Michael A. Salazar, Christie Chavez and husband, Vincent, Louie E. Chavez and Linda Salazar, all of Albuquerque; sisters, Rosie Chavez, Nellie Salazar and husband, Joe, all of Albuquerque, Rita Gurule and husband, Mike of Bernalillo, Alvita Sanchez of Albuquerque, and Mary Alice Fiero and husband, Carlos of Idaho; and two grandchildren, Nicolas Jose Chavez and Joleen Aragon. Funeral Services for Mr. Chavez will be held on Wednesday at St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church where the Mass will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. Burial will follow at Mt. Calvary Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Louie Chavez, Joseph A. Chavez, Joseph E. Chavez, Robert Chavez, Danny Baldonado and Carlos Salazar. Honorary pallbearers will be Vincent Chavez, Michael Salazar, Julian Chavez, John Salazar, Kenny Romero and Michael Sanchez.
