Schmidt -- Dennis Ray Schmidt, beloved son and brother, passed away on June 25, 2003. Dennis was born on January 30, 1969 in Elmhurst, IL. He was a resident of Rio Rancho, NM coming from Broadview, IL. Dennis was very fond of NBA basketball, and enjoyed cheering on his favorite team the Chicago Bulls. Dennis also loved spending time with his brother, remote control cars, and watching football games on television. Dennis will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved him. He was preceded in death by his inseparable brother Alan, who passed away on Feb. 14, 2003. They shared their lives and their disease until the very end and they were brothers in every sense of the word. Dennis is survived by his loving mother Irene and step-father Gary Collatz step-sister Kari Collatz; grandmother Ruth Schmidt of Broadview, IL; aunt, Diane and Mario Vanucci of Wheaton, IL; many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins. A Memorial Mass will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Monday, July 14, 2003 at St. Thomas Aquinas Church in Rio Rancho.
