Gerhardt -- Larry Gene Gerhardt passed away on Sunday, July 13, 2003 at the VA Hospital. He was born in Kansas City, MO, September 25, 1955 and spent the first six years in Boonville, MO. The family moved to Albuquerque in 1961 where he attended Hodgin Elementary, McKinley Jr. High, and Freedom High School. He was baptized, confirmed, and married at Church of the Good Shepard-United Church of Christ. He later lived in Raton, NM, where he worked for the Cole County Highway Dept., and later in Tulia, TX, where he worked for Switcher Electric Coop. In 1996, he returned to Albuquerque to be near his family. Larry is survived by his son, Rev. Johnathan Gerhardt of Albuquerque; parents, Hillard and Annie Gerhardt of Cedar Crest; and nieces, Hillary and Elizabeth Straba. He was preceded in death by his sister, Shirley. Services will be held on Wednesday, July 16, 2003, 11:00 a.m., at French Mortuary, 10500 Lomas Blvd. NE, with Rev. Dr. Sue Gallagher officiating. Interment will follow at Sandia Memory Gardens.
