Sterling -- Dr. Joanne Winifred Sterling, PhD, 68, a resident of Albuquerque, passed away Tuesday, July 15, 2003 at home after an extended illness, surrounded by those who cared for her. She was born in Titusville, PA and graduated from Chatham College. Following a 35-year position at the University of New Mexico, School of Medicine, Dept. of Psychology, Joanne retired as professor Emerita. Over the years, Joanne made a number of international journeys, including three trips to Ireland, where she was able to fill in many branches of her family tree. She will be greatly missed by her friends, and especially, Emma. Cryptside services will be held Friday, July 18, 2003, at 9:30 a.m., Gate of Heaven Cemetery, 7999 Wyoming Blvd. NE.
