Fitzgerald -- Patty Fitzgerald, age 66, and a resident of Albuquerque for 50 years died Sunday, August 17, 2003 in a local hospital following an illness. Mrs. Fitzgerald was born in Brenham, TX on February 10, 1937 to George W. and Johnnie M. Pieper. She is survived by her husband, Roy G. Fitzgerald; two sons, Roy L. Fitzgerald and his wife, Jamie, and Collin D. Fitzgerald and his wife, Ardy; her mother, Johnnie M. Pieper all of Albuquerque. Also surviving are her three grandchildren, Clare Fitzgerald, Shea Fitzgerald and Kelsea Gallegos. Although Patty was visually handicapped she learned to ice-skate and ski, and very much enjoyed nature and the outdoors. She also enjoyed traveling. Viewing and visitation will be held Wednesday, August 20, 2003 from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Fitzgerald and Son Funeral Directors, 3113 Carlisle NE. Funeral Services will be held Thursday, August 21, 2003 at 10:30 a.m. in the Chapel at Sunset Memorial Park Cemetery, 924 Menaul Blvd. NE with Rev. Jim Hawk of St. John's United Methodist officiating. Serving as casket bearers will be Jim McClure, Nelson Naro, Larry Lane, Joe Ashcraft, John Cartmill, Lee Roy Milton. The family prefers that memorials be made to Albuquerque Northeast Lions Club, 2818 Pennsylvania NE, Albuquerque, NM 87111.
