Barbato -- Mary Elizabeth Barbato, a longtime resident of Rio Rancho, passed away peacefully at home on August 3, 2003 after a long illness. She was a very beautiful woman fondly remembered by her husband as"My Sweetheart". Mary enjoyed cooking, gardening, woodworking and loved being around people. She was very fond of watching NFL football and enjoyed cheering on her favorite team, the New York Giants. Mary will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her. She is survived by her beloved husband of 45 years, Al Barbato of the family home; her step-daughter, Yvonne Rydlewski of North Bellmore, NY; sister, Margaret Micheels and husband James of Islip, NY; nephews, Joseph, Jimmy, and Larry (her Godson) Micheels; her sister-in-laws, Sister Mary Alix, and Helen Rullman; brother-in-laws, William, Vincent and wife, Jean, and Joseph and Arlene, all of New York and many other special friends. A Prayer Service will be held on Thursday, August 7, 2003 at 10:00 a.m. in the Chapel of Sunrise Funeral Options (Rio Rancho) with Sister Mary Alix as Officiant.
