Dailey -- Charles Francis Dailey, age 101, died at home surrounded by family on the Laguna Reservation August 4, 2003 at 11:06 p.m. He was born at Philadelphia Village February 14, 1902, the sixth child of George and Maria Uyya Dailey. He and Tonita Naranjo of Santa Clara Pueblo were married July 26, 1929 and enjoyed 60 years together prior to her death in 1989. He was preceded in death by two sisters, Helen Luther and Jennie Dailey; brothers, George, Lewis and Frank Dailey. He is survived by two daughters, Betty Dillman of Laguna and Bernice Brock and husband, August of Albuquerque; one sister, Inez Green and husband, Herbert of Albuquerque; ten grandchildren; and 18 great-grandchildren. He retired in 1966 from employment by NM State Highway Dept., Santa Fe Railroad, BIA Schools in Shiprock and Albuquerque and Sandia Base. He was a member of Laguna-Acoma Baptist Mission, Albuquerque Laguna Colony, NM Council of American Indians, the Masonic Lodge and Shriners. Services will be held Thursday, August 7, 2003, 10:30 a.m. at Casa Blanca Presbyterian Church, exit 108. Interment at Seama Village Cemetery. The family wishes to thank all their relatives and friends for help and support during his recent illness.
