Gurule -- Mr. Frank N. Gurule passed away unexpectedly with his wife of 62 years. Frank was 81 years old and was born on April 2,1922. He was preceded in death by his son, Raymond; and daughter Victoria; father and mother, Nicholas T. and Guadalupe Gurule; sisters, Christine Baca and Delia Garcia; brothers, Patricio Lucero, Johnnie Gurule, Epifano Gurule and Luciano Gurule. He is survived by his wife, Rochelle Gurule; sisters, Rosemary and husband, Serafin Garcia, Daisy Romero, Dulcie and Raymond Silvas, and Annie Garcia all of Albuquerque, sister-in-law, Victoria Sandeval from California; brother-in-law, Eddie Garcia, many nieces, nephews cousins and friends who will miss him immensely. He was a parishioner of Queen of Heaven Church for 49 years. He was a Eucharist minister and usher. He served 4,750 hours of volunteer work for Veterans Hospital. He was a lifetime member of V.F.W., Purple Heart Club, American Legion Post 69, DAV Ch. 3 and retired from Sandia Labs, after 40 years. He was a veteran of W.W.II, a recipient of the Purple Heart on May 30, 2003, Honorable Discharge 12-15-45. He had fife battle stars, American Campaign medal, European African Middle Eastern Campaign, Efficiency Honor Fidelity, Over Land Utah Omaha Gold Juno Sward 1944, award from the city of Antwerp Oct. 7, 1944- March 30, 1945. Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 10:00 a.m. where the Mass will be celebrated at the Queen of Heaven Church. Burial will follow at the Mt. Calvary Cemetery. Pallbearers will be, Albert Garcia, Raymond Silvas, Luis Marques, Serafin Garcia, Orlando Gomez, and Michael Nuanes. Rosary Service will be held Monday at 5:00 p.m. at the Salazar & Sons Mortuary and Tuesday at 7:00 p.m. at the Queen of Heaven Church. Visitations will be held Monday from 3:00 p.m.- 5:00 p.m. at the Salazar & Sons Mortuary 400 3rd St. SW and Tuesday from 6:00 p.m. - 7:00 p.m. at the Queen of Heaven Church.
