WELCH, WAYNE E. Age 92, died January 14, 2015. Wayne was born in Waterville, Kansas, on August 16, 1922 and was a resident of Albuquerque from June 1948 to September 2014, at which time he sold the home he had lived in for 57 years and moved to Springfield, Virginia to live with his son and daughter-in-law (Jeff and Teri Welch). He was preceded in death in 2011 by Frances, his wife of 65 years, and is survived by his daughter, Rebecca C. Welch of Albuquerque; son Jeff; four grandchildren Shannon, Kathleen, Dominique and Ryan; four great-grandchildren Alexis Noel, Molly Ryan, Brooke Autumn and Bryce Daniel; sister Winona Yeakey of Dallas, Texas; and brother Lyle Welch, of Cameron, Missouri. Wayne was a veteran of WWII with two years service in Shingbwiyang, Burma. He retired from the Mountain States Mutual Casualty Company in 1983 and was a member of St. Luke's Lutheran Church for more than 50 years. Cremation has taken place and there will be no services.
