CONWAY, ISABEL Isabel E. Conway, 81 a longtime Santa Rosa resident passed away at her home on Thursday, December 18, 2014. She was born June 4, 1933 in Anton Chico, NM to the home of Fidel and Celina (Vigil) Esquibel. She attend schools in Santa Rosa and graduated from Santa Rosa High School in 1952. She married Thomas Conway in 1966 in Santa Rosa. Isabel loved people and serving the public, she worked for over 50 years as a waitress at the Club Cafe and the Silver Moon Restaurant. She was also an avid Santa Rosa Lion's fan and a member of the Lion's "Road Crew". She enjoyed quilting, spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. She enjoyed the many hours "cruising" through Santa Rosa with her friends. Isabel is preceded in death by her parents, her husband Thomas Conway in 1972, a son Michael Esquibel in 2000, two brothers Abel and Lawrence Esquibel, a sister Mary Dillard, and two aunts Monica Velasquez and Amelia Huffmaster. Isabel was a loving mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend, she will be missed by her family including a daughter Susan Conway of Albuquerque, a son Thomas and wife Leslie Conway of Albuquerque, 8 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren, five brothers Raymond Esquibel, Tony Esquibel both of Los Angeles, CA, Joe Esquibel of Santa Rosa, Pete Esquibel of Las Cruces, Patricio Esquibel of Santa Fe, two sisters Clarita Silva of Albuquerque, and Louisa Romero of Clovis. Also surviving is an aunt raised as a sister Lizzie Vigil of Albuquerque and two beloved cousins Mike Velasquez and Jerry Velasquez both of Albuquerque. Visitation hours will be Sunday from 2pm to 6pm and Monday from 1pm to 5pm at the funeral home. A rosary will be recited at 6pm Monday, December 22, 2014 from St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church in Santa Rosa, NM. Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 10am Tuesday, December 23, 2014 from the church with Father Sotero A. Sena officiating.Pallbearers will be Randy Velasquez, Johnny Velasquez, Joey Esquibel, Ruben Esquibel, Joseph Esquibel, Ethan Esquibel, Nathan Romero, and Anthony Moncayo Jr. Honorary bearers will include Lydia Martinez, Angelina Via, Lizzie Romero, Paul Sanchez, Andrew Sena, and all her family and many friends.
