GREEN, LINDA A. FITZPATRICK DELONG 1/19/1949 - 12/12/2014 Linda Green, age 65, passed away on the morning of December 12, 2014 at her home in Santa Fe with her family at her side. After enduring a lengthy illness, she was freed from her pain and suffering. She is now resting in peace with her family, friends and pets in heaven. Linda started school at Salazar in the 50s thru Santa Fe High and graduated high school at Radford School for girls in El Paso, TX in 1967. Linda finished her education at UNM with a Master's Degree in 1972. Linda obtained a teachers certificate, but no one was hiring. Linda finally found a job with the State of NM as an adjudicator for the Social Security Administration and when she retired she was the assistant administrator for the DDU N.M. Linda helped to draft a new manual for DDU on the national level and received many awards for her work. Linda met her husband, Richard Green, in grade school in the 1950's and was married on September 7, 1968 in Santa Fe, NM. During her childhood, Linda spent many vacations in Red River, NM at Tall Pine Resort. When she retired from DDU, a wonderful new business prospect presented itself and Linda convinced her husband to purchase Tall Pine Resort. Linda guided Tall Pine Resort to become a popular family fishing destination for people from all over the world. Her guests became her friends as well as friends with each other. Throughout the years, her guests returned to see her and their other new friends. Linda was preceded in death by her father William Fitzpatrick, step-father Arthur DeLong and mother Mildred Clouthier Fitzpatrick DeLong, and her in-laws Vercie and James (Jim) Green. Linda is survived by Richard Green, her husband of 46 years; her cat Tango; her sister Leslie DeLong Bastik and husband Robert of Grants, NM; her brother-in-law James Green of Rio Rancho, NM; and several cousins. Linda also left behind her best friends Frances Rivera of Santa Fe, NM and Melvin and Darlene Garcia of Questa, NM. The family would like to express our thanks to PMS Hospice Care for helping Linda pass peacefully. The family asks that in lieu of flowers, Linda would like donations made to the Santa Fe Humane Society in her name. If you are interested in Linda's final arrangements, please contact Tall Pine Resort at 575-754-2241 in late January 2015.
