LETT, DEETTA FINNEGAN Age 54, born December 6, 1960, passed away peacefully in her daughter's home and care on December 5, 2014. Devoted mother to Dana Rhae Cohen; daughter to Thomas James Lett Sr.; sister to Thomas V.J. Lett (Debra), Karen Gooding, Sheila Lett, Daniel Lett (Pamela), William Lett, Timothy Lett, and Linda George; aunt to Jonathan Gooding (Lisa), Josephine Ehlers (Scott), Madleine Lett, Benjamin Gooding, Michael Gooding, Catherine Smucker (Aaron), Shawn Lett, Thomas James Lett, Michael Lett, Patrick Lett, Victoria E.R. Lett, Victoria C. Lett, Nicole Lett, Hannah Lett, Brandon Lett, Sarah Lett, Emily Fernandez, Jacqualyne Lett; and great-aunt to five, Connor Ehlers, Jett Salisbury, Alexandra Ehlers, Athena Lett and Brooklyn Lett. She is also survived by numerous cousins and far reaching extended family. She was preceded in death by her mother, Louise Christina Finnegan Lett. DeEtta was born in Springfield, MA and spent her early childhood years in New England until the Lett family moved to New Mexico in 1972. She graduated from Cibola High School in 1979 and graduated from CNM with an Associates in 2011. She was pursuing a bachelors degree at UNM before illness stopped her. Her generosity touched many, and her fiery Irish spirit was always present. She made lifelong friendships in New Mexico and enjoyed the spectacular New Mexico skies and mountains, but always longed to visit her ancestral Irish roots. Being a devoted daughter and mother was of the utmost importance throughout her life. DeEtta loved animals and leaves behind her loyal dog, Barkley, and two cats, Tinkerbell and Precious. She enjoyed tending to her family and friends and always put the care of those she loved before herself. In remembrance and celebration of her life and the joy she brought us, the family invites you to join us for a memorial service at St. Michael & All Angels Episcopal Church, 601 Montano Rd NE, Albuquerque, New Mexico 87107 on Wednesday, December 10th at 10:00 AM followed by a wake at the parish hall. Sympathies and condolences can be mailed to her daughter at 7521 Guadalupe Trl NW, Los Ranchos, NM 87107. Her daughter will ensure her cremated remains are scattered on the rolling hills of Ireland. DeEtta requested that any donations in her memory be made to Watermelon Ranch or Animal Humane.
