ASENDORF, KARL WILLIAM 1935 - 2014 Karl William Asendorf age 78, a resident of Rio Communities of Belen, passed away peacefully on Saturday, October 4. Karl retired from the Navy in 1976 after 22 years of dedicated service. He taught electronics for 20 years at TVI (CNM) in Albuquerque, retiring in 1995. He had a passion for animals, woodworking, trains, and travel. He loved spending time with his family and will be dearly missed by all. Karl enjoyed an active retirement traveling, spending time with his family, his four grandchildren, and three great-grandchildren. He is survived by his loving wife of 57 years, Barbara; three children, Diana (Rick), Darlene (Ruben), and William (Michelle) of Rio Rancho; sister, Doris Foster, of Bethany Beach, Delaware. Services will be held at First Presbyterian Church of Belen on Thursday, October 16, beginning at 10:00 a.m., followed by interment at Santa Fe National Cemetery, beginning at 3:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations in Karl's name can be made to St. Jude's Hospital or the Watermelon Ranch Animal Shelter of Rio Rancho, NM.
