MORA, DOLORES MARIA Age 92, a lifelong resident of Bernalillo, NM, went home to the Lord on Friday, August 15, 2014 surrounded by her loving family. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, and will be deeply missed by all who knew her. She is survived by her two sons, David N. Mora and wife Angie of San Jose, CA and Robert L. Mora and wife Rachel of Las Vegas, NV; five grandchildren, Nic (Nicky), Anthony and wife Mandi, Julian, Kristina and husband David, and Catrina; eight great-grandchildren, Katelyn, Paige, Danica, Alexandra, Eli, Trace, Tyler and Leah; sister Ignacita Tenorio; caretaker, Nora Bolivar and son Anthony; plus numerous other relatives and friends. Dolores was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Nick Mora after 61 years of marriage; parents, Liberato Montoya and Victoriana Lopez Montoya; and brother, Ernest Montoya. Dolores was born in December of 1921 in Bernalillo, NM. After graduating from high school she was employed by the Bernalillo Mercantile Company as a cashier and bookkeeper for many years. Dolores then worked as the bookkeeper for the Albuquerque Blueprint Company for a number of years. She returned to the Bernalillo Mercantile Company to support the closure of the business. She managed the final business and customer account receivables. She was one of the last employees to leave the company. Dolores enjoyed farming and ranching and worked right alongside Nick on their fruit and vegetable farm in Bernalillo. One of her favorite tasks in the fall was preparing fruit and vegetable arrangements for judging at the New Mexico State Fair in Albuquerque, where she won numerous blue ribbons, competing with many of the larger farms in the state. Work in the retail industry gave Dolores the experience and background needed to embark on her second career and dream of owning her own business. Together with a co-worker from the Bernalillo Mercantile they opened the Central "Y" Gift Shop in Bernalillo. When her partner retired Dolores continued to run the business all by herself for many more years. She eventually scaled down and moved her business to her home where she continued to operate the gift shop until her death. Rosary will be recited on Thursday, August 28, 2014, 7:00 p.m., at Our Lady of Sorrows Catholic Church, 301 S. Camino del Pueblo in Bernalillo.
