TRAFTON, CLINTON LAVERNE Age 82, passed in his sleep on Sunday, June 29, 2014 at his home in Patagonia, AZ. He is survived by his wife Janie Lawton; sister Conita Thompson of Sun City AZ; sons, Curtis and wife Christina (Alea and Tara), Clinton Mitchell and wife Deborah (Craig and Kelly), and Clay and Sandra (Chase); along with their mother Dorothy Curtis Trafton of Corrales NM; and two great-grandchildren. Clint graduated from Albuquerque High School in 1950, enlisted and served in the US Army during the Korean War, where he was stationed in Seattle, WA, received a BS in Electrical Engineering from UNM in 1959, a MS in Psychology from UNM in 1962, and a PhD in Psychology from the University of Illinois in 1965. He was a professor at Pomona College CA and University of Arizona until he retired from academia in 1980. He enjoyed his life in Tucson, AZ, woodworking, fly fishing and playing tennis, surrounded by his friends, eventually moving to Patagonia, AZ. He was preceded in death by his parents Cedric and Lorraine and his second wife Sara Winter. Memorial services will be held on Sunday, July 20th at 9:00 am at the Patagonia Community Center. In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to the Patagonia Public Library.
