GONZALES, GRACE was born July 29, 1924 in Bernal, New Mexico. She entered into eternal rest on Saturday, May 24, 2014. Grace was a former resident of Bernal, New Mexico and moved to Albuquerque in 1956. She was, first and foremost, a homemaker, and was known for her great cooking, sewing and embroidery. In later years, Grace worked for APS as a substitute cook. As well, she did janitorial work for Starline and Guynes Printing. Grace was preceded in death by her parents, Jose and Eduvigen Mares; sisters, Inez Toledo, Irene Ratliff, Alice Singleton and Rose Sandoval; brother, Paul Mares; her husband, Raymond Gonzales; infant son; daughters, Rosalie Ann Gonzales and Elizabeth Gonzales-Barreras. Grace is survived by her sisters, Fanny Honest of Albuquerque, Dora Solano of Canon City, CO, Minnie Gurule of Bernal, NM; daughter, Margie Pacheco (Chris); son, Michael Gonzales; daughter, Shirley Gonzales (Tony Chambers) all of Albuquerque; grandchildren, Monica Fajardo (Aaron) of Garland, TX, Michael Gonzales Jr, (Nicole), Marc Gonzales (Angelica), Kenneth Pacheco and Marissa Pacheco all of Albuquerque; great grandchildren, Brittney Fajardo, Gilbert Fajardo of Garland, TX, Nathan Gonzales, Jacob Chambers, Joseph Chambers, Angelic Chambers and Leondra Gonzales all of Albuquerque; as well as many other family members and friends who loved and will miss her. Services will be held at Queen of Heaven Parish, 5311 Phoenix NE. (Near San Mateo and Menaul), on Friday, May 30, 2014. A Rosary will be recited at 12:30 pm and Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 1:00 pm. Burial will then follow at Mt. Calvary Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Michael Gonzales Jr., Marc Gonzales, Nathan Gonzales, Jacob Chambers, Kenneth Pacheco and Chris Pacheco. Honorary pallbearers will be Marissa Pacheco, Joseph Chambers, Angelic Chambers and Leondra Gonzales. Arrangements by Direct Funeral Services, 2919 4th St. NW. 505-343-8008.
