WILSON, BURGESS G. Age 73, died at home on New Years' Day, 2014, after a long illness. After retirement they settled in Albuquerque where they pursued an active lifestyle of travel, golfing, gardening, fishing and volunteering. Burgess was the kindest and most helpful of souls as bespoken by his widespread circle of close friends. He was always the first to step forward when a job was to be done or a person needed helphe was the finest of persons. Burgess loved fly fishing, baseball and Kentucky basketball. He was lifelong fan of the St. Louis Cardinals and suffered mightily when they did poorly. He and a close group of friends often fished the San Juan River as well as places in Colorado, Montana and Canada. He earned the nickname "patience" for his extreme patience to stand and fish in one spot for hours while his friends tramped the river. A memorial service for Burgess will be held at Asbury United Methodist Church, 10000 Candelaria NE, on January 23rd at 10:30 am. Interment will be at the Santa Fe National Cemetery at 2:15 pm the same day.
