GARCIA, SYLVIA age 82, was born on June 20, 1931 in Albuquerque, NM and passed away on Friday, January 10, 2014 in Albuquerque, NM. She was the kind of person who would give you the shirt off her back. To know her was to love her. Sylvia was preceded in death by her husband Adrian; sons, Adrian Jr. and David Garcia; mother, Merlinda and father, Cresesiano Gurule; granddaughter, Brittany Aragon. She is survived by her children, Rudy and wife Christina, Christy and husband Ray, Joe and wife Sun, Lucinda and husband Jeff, Gloria and husband Rigulo, Peter, Sophie and husband Clarence and Thea and husband Eddie; sisters, Beatrice, Florence and Sadie as well as many other family members and friends who loved and will miss her. Services will be held at Nativity of Blessed Virgin Mary Catholic Church, 9502 4th St. NW(4th and Alameda) on Wednesday, January 15, 2014. A Rosary will be recited at 8:00am. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 9:00am. Reception to follow at the Parish Hall. Burial will take place at the Santa Fe National Cemetery at 3:00pm. Pallbearers will be Fabian Gurule, Sebastian Gurule, Louie Lucero, Anthony Garcia, Nathaniel Chavez and Ashley Sandoval.
