DOORNBOS, STEVEN MARCUS "STEVE" A lifelong cowboy, Steve Doornbos rode off into the sunset on Friday, December 13, in Albuquerque, New Mexico, following a long illness. He was 69. He grew up in Gallatin Gateway, Montana, the son of Gene and Bente (Nielsen) Doornbos. He later held residence in Gering, Nebraska before moving to Corrales, New Mexico. In true cowboy style he loved open lands, horses and a good joke between friends. He was preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by a daughter, Candy Blackwell of Tennessee; sister, Karen Davis of Montana; his two grandchildren, Savannah and Xander Blackwell, also of Tennessee; and two cherished friends, Harry Touloumis of Corrales, NM and Slim Randles of Albuquerque, NM. A graveside service will be held on Friday, December 20th at the Santa Fe National Cemetery at 9:45 a.m.
