GRIEGO, JOHN F., SR. Age 91, a resident of Bosque Farms, NM, died Tuesday, June 11, 2013. He is survived by his six children, Antoinette Laubert (Gary), Ann Skelley (Ron), John Griego, Jr. (Liz), Eileen Lopez (Joe), Ron Griego (Barbara) and Gina Roll (Rob); eleven grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and one sister, Anita Jaramillo of Las Vegas, NV. He was preceded in death by his wife, Anna Dow Griego; his parents, Manuel and Cipriana Griego; three brothers; and three sisters. After his wife's death in 1970, he continued to raise his children by himself and one of his greatest joys and accomplishments was being a father and grandfather. He was a member of San Clemente Parish in Los Lunas, NM. He was born in Maes, NM in 1922, joined the military in 1942 and served in Germany during WWII. He was honorably discharged in 1946. He later became an educator working in the Los Lunas school system for 27 years, then in Estancia, NM as a high school Principal, from where he retired in 1984. He was elected Torrance County Commissioner in 1986 and continued as a cattle rancher until 1992 at which time he moved to Los Lunas, then to Bosque Farms in 2007. The Rosary will be recited on Monday, June 17, 2013, 7:00 p.m., at FRENCH - Westside. Mass will be celebrated Tuesday, June 18, 2013, 10:00 a.m., at San Clemente Parish in Los Lunas, NM. Interment will follow at Mt. Calvary Cemetery in Albuquerque. Pallbearers will be his grandsons, Dominic Griego, Ronnie James Griego, Sid Lucero, Ross Roll and sons-in-law, Gary Laubert, Robert Roll, Joe Lopez and Ron Skelley.
