NUANES, ROMOLO RICHARD age 69, a lifelong resident of Albuquerque passed away on March 11, 2013. Mr. Nuanes is survived by beloved wife of forty three years, Gloria; his son, Richard V. Nuanes and his wife, Desiree; grandchildren, Andrew Gutierrez, Richard Elias Nuanes, and Vincent Jacob Nuanes; father,, Romolo V. Nuanes; sisters, Lucille Nuanes and husband, John Waskiewicz, and Joan Nuanes and Dennis Schneider; nieces and nephew, Tamara, Brian and Diana; great-nephew and nieces, Chad, Ashely, and Victoria; great-great-grandnephew and niece, Bella and Niko; aunts, Ann Lucero and Carmen Hauser; and many extended family members. Mr. Nuanes was preceded in death my his mother, Susan Nuanes. Mr. Nuanes was a member of the Catholic Church, a Veteran of the U.S. Navy, serving on the USS Constellation, during the Vietnam Era and was retired from the City of Albuquerque, Human Resources Department. Visitation will be Friday, March 15, 2013 at Santuario de San Martin Catholic Church, 8321 Camino San Martin SW, from 7:00 p.m. until 7:30 p.m. with a Rosary to be recited at 7:30 p.m. Final visitation will be Saturday, March 16, 2013 at the Church from 9:30 a.m. until 10:00 a.m. with Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated 10:00 a.m. Interment will follow at San Jose de Armijo Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Dennis Schneider, John Waskiewicz, Brian Smith, Chad Smith, Andrew Gutierrez, and Steve Padilla. Honorary pallbearers will be Ricky Nuanes, Vincent Nuanes, Eli Padilla, Albert Padilla, Frank Padilla, and Gabriel Padilla. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, P.O. Box 1893, Memphis, TN 38101.
