LETHEM, SANDRA Sandy died peacefully in her sleep on February 9, 2013. She and her husband Larry were on their way to Albuquerque, NM from their new home in Hillsboro, TX for a week of connecting with friends. Sandy is missed by her husband Larry, her children Trevor and Connie Peterson; Scott and Julie Peterson, her grandchildren Ava and Finley Peterson; and her brother Carter Duke and wife Gail; and Laura and George Milton Kayser. Sandy was a dedicated and inspirational teacher. She worked tirelessly to inspire her students to reach their full potential. She was a loving and creative mother that inspired independent thinking and creative problem solving. Mom's mind was a beautiful blend of art and science; she was able to recognize, appreciate, and encourage artistic expression while at the same time understanding and embracing emerging technology. Mom loved nature, from the forest to the ocean, and through her we learned to appreciate the roar of the waves and searching for seashells, to the crackle of a campfire. A celebration of Sandy's life was held at her new home at the North Texas Airstream Community in Hillsboro, TX on February 16, 2013. There will be a celebration in Albuquerque, NM in the near future.
