GUTIERREZ, MORES J. Our dear father, grandfather, husband, uncle and friend Mores "Mo" Gutierrez has left us to be with his Heavenly Father on December 29, 2012, after several months under hospice care. Mo was 82 years young. Dad passed peacefully in his sleep, in his home, which was his one and only final request. His youngest daughter, and caregiver, Ava was by his side. Mauricio 'Mores' was born on July 19, 1930, in San Acacia, New Mexico. Dad loved to tell stories of the best times in his life during his younger years living in San Acacia with his father, mother, brother and sister and many childhood friends. Dad loved to tell the story of his baseball days as a young boy and the team's cheer: "Alamillo, Alamillo sittin' on a fence, tryin' make a dollar out of fifteen cents!" In his younger days, dad's nickname was "spider" for his keen ability to stretch for the ball to make an out at home plate. Dad dropped out of high school to support his mother and sister during the hardship of the Great Depression and began his career at 17 years old falsely telling his employer he was 18 and eventually instilling an exceptionally strong work ethic in his four children. Dad moved to Albuquerque, New Mexico after marrying his first wife, Polly Sisneros November 4, 1950, and shortly after, called to the United States Army November 8, 1950, a Korean Conflict Veteran and member of Post 72. Dad was known for his ever present sense of humor, hard work ethic, kind heart and love for his 'ranchera' music and polka dance. Mores retired as a Meat Packer from Swift & Company and as a Foreman with New Mexico Beverage. He also owned a landscaping business for many years with his 2 sons. He married Andrea Molina on February 28, 1984. Mores is preceded in death by his mother, Eligia G. Gutierrez; father, Vicente Gutierrez and wife, Andrea; sister, Emily Anaya; and brother, Vicente Garcia. Mores is survived by our mother, Polly Sisneros; son, Morris R. Gutierrez Jr., wife, Geraldine; granddaughter, Roberta and husband, Rick Maestas; great-granddaughter, Mia; granddaughter, Shuri and husband, Jonathan Romero; great- grandson, Jonathan Trevor; daughter, Ana Malinalli X. The family would like to give our sincere appreciation to Vista Care Hospice staff for their compassion and support during this difficult time; to dad's dear friend and companion, Marcella Martinez for her love, generosity and ability to put a smile on dad's face; and to dad's many dear friends, stepchildren, neighbors and numerous family members, for their thoughts and prayers and who will always have a special place in our hearts.
