LUCAS, LUCILLE Age 98, passed away on December 25, 2012. She was born in Crestline, Kansas on April 30, 1914, the daughter of George Martin and Otha Bailey. Her husband, Lewis L. passed away on July 22, 1984. She was a member of the Los Altos Christian Church, Disciples of Christ and was a life member of the Order of the Eastern Star. Lucille taught on the Navajo reservation and retired from the Gallup public schools before moving to Albuquerque. She is survived by her son, J.D. Lucas and wife, Micky, Curtis Lucas and his wife, Julie; grandchildren, Lory Nunez, Melissa Huckabee and her husband, David, John and wife, Haydee and Kevin Lucas; her great grandchildren, Briana Cimino, Derrick Nunez, Cera J. Nunez, Stetson Lucas, Emma Lucas, Jessica and husband, Bradd Preston, Kristina Huckabee, Noemi, Elizabeth and Johnathan Venegas, Alison Lucas, Evangeline and Eilley Preston. Cremation has taken place. A Memorial Service will be held Friday, January 4, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. at Los Altos Christian Church, 11900 Haines Ave NE. Interment will take place at Santa Fe National Cemetery on Monday, January 7, 2013 at 10:30 a.m. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Shriner's Crippled Children's Transportation Fund or to any charity of your choice.
