BROWN, PAUL EDWARD Another soldier has gone from us. Paul Edward Brown, son of the late Mrs. Focella O'Neil Brown Davis (of Taylor Memorial UMC). Brother of Carol Williams and Norma Davis Hanks; uncle of Lisa and Anthony Davis; died peacefully on Wednesday, November 14, 2012. He was surrounded by his sisters and a very dear friend whom he had known all of his adult life, Mr. Bill Tuggle of Chicago. His dear friend George Singleton was with Paul one week prior to Paul's passing. Paul grew up in Houston, Texas and graduated from Wheatley High School in 1958. He received a four year Worthing Academic Scholarship and attended Michigan State University. He attended Officers Training School at Fort Knox before serving in the Army during the Viet Nam War. After his service was completed, he received his Master of Science Degree and was recruited to work with IBM and later with Xerox. Upon his retirement, he moved to Oakland, CA to be near his family. After the passing of his mother, he decided to move to Albuquerque, NM, where he enjoyed his retirement until his illness. We want to thank our church families, our family and friends for their constant prayers, cards, phone calls and the visits from friends who have been very close to Paul over the years. We want to especially thank our cousin, Dr. James Hadnott, for his help in consulting with the doctors on Paul's case, his counsel and guidance from the onset of Paul's illness and throughout his care in hospice. We love you Sonny. We are grateful to Paul's friend Pat Jenkins for his spiritual support while we were in Albuquerque. All praises and thanks to GOD for giving us time to spend with our brother before his demise. We loved him very much and will miss him always. Arrangements are pending.
