ORTIZ, RICARDO (RICHARD) age 82 , a resident of Albuquerque, NM, born on September 12. 1930, in Truchas, New Mexico, passed away on December 12 , 2012. Mr. Ortiz is survived by his wife, of fifty nine years, Lita; children., Emelda Ortiz-Friedrich and husband, Steve, Dorothy Lopez and husband, Rudy, Harold Ortiz and wife, Janet, Leroy Ortiz and wife, Velda, Michael Ortiz and wife, Phyllis, Janet Lara and husband, Benny Ray, Marvin Ortiz, Lynn Nelson and husband, Ben; thirty eight grandchildren; forty five great-grandchildren; and sisters, Cristina Montoya, and Toni Bermudez and husband, Joe. Mr. Ortiz was preceded in death by his parents, Enrique and Beatrice Ortiz; grandchildren, Veronica Lopez, Anthony Ortiz, Adam Lopez, Abrian Ward, Celita Ward, Joseph Ward; brother, Gilbert Ortiz. Mr. Ortiz was member of the Catholic Church; a Veteran of the U.S. Army, serving during the Korean Conflict; member of Local Union 1319; a member of American Legion, Post 13 and Disabled American Veterans, Chapter 3. Visitation for the public will be Sunday, December 16, 2012 from 2:30 p.m. until 3:00 p.m. with a Rosary to follow at 3:00 p.m. in the Gabldon Memorial Chapel. Final visitation will be from 1:30 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. on Monday, December 17, 2012 at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, 619 Copper Ave. NW, with Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated at 2:00 p.m. Interment with military honors will follow at Mt. Calvary Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Mario Ward, Charles Lopez, Brian Ortiz, Eric Ortiz, Gerald Griego, Marvin Ortiz Jr., Benjamin Nelson, Tristan Ortiz; Honorary Pallbearer, Chris Lopez.
