DE RAMOS, SARA L. Loving mother, aunt, grandmother and friend went home to our Lord and Savior Wednesday, November 14, 2012 at the age of 92. She was born in Guatemala City, Guatemala. Sara was a determined and creative individual that was ahead of her time in many areas. She received education degrees in Guatemala City at a time when most women did not obtain advanced education. She immigrated to New Mexico with her family in 1963. She received a B.A. and M.A. in Bilingual Education from the University of New Mexico. She taught for 54 years, had a passion for teaching young children to read and write and was loved by all her students. She was dedicated to her family, educating children and her faith in Christ. Her talents included intricate and beautiful crochet, complex origami and the ability to sew anything. Her humor and faith was seen in her poetry, singing and interactions with people, especially children. She will be missed but will continue to be an inspiration for educational achievement and faith in Christ. Sara was preceded in death by her parents, Dolores and Antonio Lopez; sister, Eva Giron. She is survived by daughter, Alicia Ramos Baker and husband Jeffery; sons, Luis A. Ramos Jr. and wife Carolyn, Herbert Ramos, Dwight Pablo Ramos and wife Pamelia, Byron Ramos; grandchildren, Alyce, Brandon, Kristy, Derrick, Karrye, Zanet, Jessica, Steffanie, Madeline, Rachel; great grandchildren, Dasia, Kayla, Krystina, Dominic, Erik, Gabriel, Eliana, Elyjah. Service will be held Saturday, November 17, 2012, at 10:00 am, at Daniels Family Funeral Services - Sara Chapel. Interment to follow at Vista Verde Memorial Park.
