TOMINGAS, ARNOLD Age 92, a longtime resident of Edgewood, NM passed away Friday, September 14, 2012. He was born on September 4, 1920 to Jon and Emma (Kenna) of Gillette, WY. Mr. Tomingas began his 35 year military career in the US Army Air Corps, transferring into the US Air Force, and retiring after serving the New Mexico Air National Guard. During his military career, he served in three wars: World War II, Korean War, and the Vietnam War. He built three homes in his lifetime. He was a very hands on kind of man who took deep pride in his work. He could fix anything. Mr. Tomingas was, also very competitive. He was the best horse shoe thrower and was an exceptional fisherman. His musical talents included playing the guitar, mandolin, and fiddle. "Pop" was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 66 years, Marjorie, in May of this year; siblings, Paula, Art, Ann, Sadie, Rob, and Henry. Mr. Tomingas is survived by his sons, Edward Tomingas and wife, Lisa, and Mark Tomingas and wife, Barbara; five grandchildren, Noel, Melissa, Christopher, Emma and Andrew; 12 great-grandchildren, Lakyn, Tristan, Tanner, Isabel, Amelia, Mercedes, Therese, Connie, Cheryl, Colton, Sophia, and Jackson; and one sister, Donna Reznick. A Memorial Service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, September 16, 2012 at the family residence in Edgewood. Mr. and Mrs. Tomingas will be inurned at Santa Fe National Cemetery.
