NEWCOMB -- LESLIE LOUISE "ZEZZIE" 56, a resident of Albuquerque, NM passed away on Sunday, August 12, 2012. Leslie (Dobberteen) Newcomb was born in Sturgis, Michigan on September 6, 1955 and after a three year struggle with illness went to live with Jesus and see her father Joe. Leslie is survived by her husband, David Newcomb; mother, Alice Dobberteen, both of Albuquerque, NM; sister, Lauren Dobberteen of Reston, VA; and by numerous very special and caring cousins, other family members, and friends. Leslie loved life and lived it to the fullest. She water skied, snow skied, played golf, rode a unicycle and her Harley Fat Boy. For approximately thirty years, she worked in the Human Resources field. She was a dedicated employee and valuable asset to any organization lucky enough to hold on to her. Leslie was fortunate to have recently visited friends and relatives in San Diego, CA; attend the Queen's Diamond Jubilee in London, and visit her childhood home at Klinger Lake, near Sturgis, Michigan. The family expresses heartfelt appreciation to all the doctors and health-care workers who provided timely diagnosis and care. Doctors Francisco Ampuero and David Sears excelled with professional, compassionate care. The flight crew and nurse, who conducted a recent emergency jet escort between Michigan and Albuquerque, were outstanding. On a date to be announced, following motorcycle transport by her husband from Albuquerque to Sturgis (another adventure for Leslie), a memorial service will be held and ashes will be scatted at Klinger Lake. Cremation services have been entrusted to Riverside Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers the family has requested that donations be made in Leslie Newcomb's name to the Vista Care Hospice Foundation; Attn: Sara, 5600 Wyoming Blvd. NE, Suite 10; Albuquerque, NM 87109. Leslie asks that a special thank you go to the caring staff at Vista Care Hospice. Leslie's wonderful smile helped everyone through her struggle. Riverside Funeral Home of Albuquerque 225 San Mateo Blvd. NE 764-9663
