RODGERS -- ROBERT EVERETTE (BOB) Was born May 30, 1934 and was called to heaven on June 29, 2012. He was the son of Edward Sherman Rodgers and Teresa Mae Beaven Rodgers. Bob was preceded in death by his son Timothy Beaven Rodgers. He is survived by his devoted wife Charlene; sons Gregg Rodgers, Aaron Rodgers and wife Kathy of Albuquerque; daughters Robyn Claire Rodgers, and Teresa Mae Rodgers-Blakemore and husband Rick Blakemore of Carlsbad CA; step-sons, Eddie Peck and wife Cindy, Mark Peck and wife Christine of Santa Fe, and Greg Peck and wife Susan of Taos. Bob was the youngest of 13 children and was preceded in death by brothers, James Beaven, Edward Sherman, John Beaven; sisters, Katherine Jones, Sister Roberta Marie Rodgers, and Sister Marie Rodgers. He is survived by his brother Alfred (Governor) Rodgers; sisters, Dola Clarke, Rita Kerr, and Jane Mechenbier; nine grandchildren; three great-grandchildren. Bob was an electrical contractor for 48 years before he retired in 1999, leaving his business in the capable hands of his son Aaron Rodgers and Colleen Seeley. He was active in the National Electrical Contractors Association (NECA) serving as President and Governor. In 1975 Bob was the first President of the New Mexico Council of Construction Employees. Bob was inducted into the Academy of Electrical Contractors in 1989; he became a veteran member of NECA in 2001. Bob was a member of the Executive Association of Greater Albuquerque (EAGA) for many years serving as President in 1991. Bob served on the Board of Directors of the Dismas House, one of his favorite charities. In 2000, Bob received the Volunteer of the Year award from the Dismas House and went on to receive numerous other awards. He was the coffee chairman for over 20 years for Brother Mathias Saint Patrick's corned-beef and cabbage dinner which benefited the Brothers of the Good Shepherd. A lifelong resident of Albuquerque, Bob graduated from Saint Mary's High school in 1952. Bob enjoyed racquetball, audio books, gardening, boating, RV travel, cruising, church participation (Catholic faith) and his many friends. He also belonged to the Lobo Club for over 40 years and enjoyed the football and basketball games. A Celebration of Life and reunion with Christ will be held Tuesday, July 3, 2012, 2:00 p.m., at French ~ Lomas Chapel. Funeral Mass will be held Friday, July 6, 2012, 10:00 a.m., at Aquinas Newman Center Catholic Church, 1815 Las Lomas Rd., N.E. Albuquerque.
