CLARKE -- ANGELA PORTER daughter of Constance Hoag and Samuel Henry Porter, was born February 21, 1948 and passed away late Friday evening, June 8, 2012. The charismatic, blue-eyed advocate for nature, simplicity, and "growing your own food!" has been returned to the earth that she loved so much. Angela was a retired psychotherapist, volunteer at the Heritage Farm, and friend to so many. Although we will all miss her organic cooking, reading recommendations, and outspoken political debates, particularly affected are her surviving children, Samuel, Angelina, and Caitlin; her grandson, Orion and her sisters, Julie Baumer and Coco Brain. Her husband, Richard Llewellyn Clarke, passed away in 2009 in Oregon. Although the family is planning only a private scattering of her ashes among immediately family, you can always visit her at the river, wherever the water birds are gathering. Instead of sending condolences, the family requests that you quit smoking, commit to eating more sustainability, and, of course, love each other more unconditionally. Angela's favorite quotes: "Our life is frittered away by detail. Simplify, simplify, simplify!" - Henry David Thoreau "The secret to wisdom ... is kindness." - Angela Porter Clarke [her interpretation from the Talmud, which states, "The highest form of wisdom is kindness."]. Arrangements by Direct Funeral Services, 2919 4th St. NW. ABQ. 505-343-8008
