PARRA -- JOE F. Age 77, passed away on April 12, 2012 in Albuquerque. Joe was born on September 6, 1934 to Placido L. and Ygnacia (Miranda) Parra. He retired from the Albuquerque Fire Department as District Chief after 26 years of service. He was a veteran of the U.S. Coast Guard and a charter member of the Albuquerque Fire Department's Retiree Association. Joe is survived by three children: Mark Parra of Albuquerque, Rebecca Parra of Chandler, AZ and Greg (Maxine) Parra of Edgewood, NM; five grandchildren, Michelle Parra of Albuquerque, Brandon Parra of Albuquerque, Cpl. Travis Lopez of San Diego, CA, Nicole Parra of Albuquerque, Katrina Lopez of Edgewood; and siblings, Salvador Parra of Lubbock, TX, John Parra of Albuquerque, Juanita Macias of Canadian, TX, Bernardo Parra of Albuquerque, Ramona Parra of Amarillo, TX and his former wife, Jane Parra of Chandler, AZ. In addition to his parents, Joe was preceded in death by two brothers and three sisters. All services will be held at Our Lady of Guadalupe Parish, 1860 Griegos Road NW, Albuquerque. Visitation will begin at 6:00pm Monday, April 16, 2012 with the recitation of the Rosary at 7:00pm. The Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 9:00am Tuesday, April 17, 2012. Burial with U.S. Coast Guard and Albuquerque Fire Department honors will immediately follow at Mt. Calvary Cemetery.
